FAQ's - What you need to know

 

Fundraising

 

Although fundraising is not required, it is encouraged.  This event is in support of Special Olympics Ontario, a great organization that provides year-round sports training & competition for people with an intellectual disability.

 

If that isn’t incentive enough, the Top Fundraiser will win a Samsung Galaxy Tab E and $100 Tim Hortons Gift Card

 

Race Day Schedule


Start at OPP Headquarters 777 Memorial Avenue

 

8:45 AM – Torch Presentation
9:00 AM – Half Marathon begins
9:15 AM – 5k begins

 

Race Day Registration

 

Same day registration will be permitted unless the event is sold out.  Cash, debit and credit card payments will be accepted. 

 

Half Marathon: $95

5 KM: $45

 

Same-day registrants will not receive a t-shirt.

 

Race Kit Pickup

 

Friday October 18th

Time:  4 – 7 PM

Location: Running Room Barrie, 56 Dunlop St. E., Barrie
(VIP Shopping at Running Room Barrie – 25% off – regular priced products some restrictions apply including nutrition and electronics)

 

Saturday October 19th

Time: 5 – 7 PM
Location:  OPP Academy, 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia, Entrance B

 

Sunday October 20th

Time: 7- 8:30 AM
Location:  OPP Academy, 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia, Entrance B

 

What to bring:

  • Photo I.D.

What you get:

  • Race bib – chip timed by Sportstats. Results available on Sportstats.com
  • Race shirt (only for those registered before October 1st deadline)

 Picking up for a friend?

  • Bring a letter/email from them indicating you will be picking up

 

Parking

 

OPP Academy – 700 Memorial Ave Orillia, Entrance C


Bag Check and Lost and Found

 

Bag check will be available next to the registration table on event day.
Location: OPP Academy, 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia, Entrance B

 

Aid Stations

 

Zehrs will be providing water and fruit along the course. There will be a total of 9 aid stations along the course including the start and finish line.  

 

Food

 

Fruit, and Water provided at the Finish line.

 

Hydration

 

Provided by Tailwind at all 9 aid stations in addition to water.

 

Washroom Facilities

 

Portable Toilets available at Registration and Finish as well as 3 different locations on the course

 

Course Restrictions

 

Pets, strollers, bicycles and rollerblades are not permitted on the course.

 

Prizes

 

There will be a prize for top male and top female finisher in each distance
